Growing Pains again...

Too many people viewing the board as Guest, causing an overload, we are working on getting another addtional server to handle the traffic.... please have patience while these issues persist....

      We theoretically would have to close the forum to guest access entirely, which may not be well liked... for some reason people prefer to "remain anonymous" even though you can anonymize your GG account....

      Be well liked by users or just random people/youtubers? I'd personally think this was the way to go, but then I don't know that much about running this site.

      I'm not sure how it's done but I know it's possible to prioritize member traffic. I'm on another board that has paid subscriptions and during very busy times, paid subs get priority. Might depend on the server or framework? Worth looking into maybe (prioritizing members, not paid subscriptions ;) )

    Im a registered user but your site will not keep me logged in. So I've been in guest mode for days as it was the only way to even see anything.

      Same here, I usually only sign in to comment or if I need to use the search feature, otherwise 95% of the time I browse as a guest.

      Nah, I'm pretty sure it has to do with the logging people out issue. I think there's been problems with Blogger in general today.

    It should really just be member accounts. If people want to see what it is being discussed make them sign up. I mean we were all lurkers at one point but this way people don't have to write "long time lurker" when joining in on a conversation.
    Heck I'd be be willing to pay a dollar to five a month for a membership if it meant the site didn't crash all the time. I'm not criticizing you like some people do. Just giving my opinion. Just seems like it be a smarter thing to do, especially when we get nut fans coming to bitch and then disappear or youtubers themselves will profit off of pity by using out conversations in videos...

    I know I view mainly as guest because it never keeps me logged in. Make a Keep Me Logged In that actually works then there wouldn't be so many guests. I only log in when I want to comment.

    I see people saying banned people have been allowed to post again but I was permanently banned for no reason a few days ago and I have no clue why it's happened or how to fix it? I emailed the board admins a few times but I've gotten no response. As far as I know I was following all the rules (as I barely comment to begin with) and I've never been warned about anything.

    Still getting error pages here as well. Can't get on the site at all. I saw that the forum now has 50,000 members. I really think there needs to have an option for only people with at least 10 posts or something to be able to access the site at busy times. There may be 50,000 members but I seem to see probably the same 50 people max that actually bother to ever post!

    I'm getting "board unavailable" nearly all the time now. Have been a regular poster for years, but just about the end of my tether with this now. Even when I can get on it's often not worth posting as I'm not always sure if the message will even show up! Is there anything we can do to help get this fixed? If all the regular posters like me also give up there isn't going to be a site left at this rate.

    I think it's not just the guests, but also a lot of registered people lurking and never posting. I've seen lots of people recently saying that they are just posting a couple of times so they are able to view the pictures on the forum. I'm sure as anything not seeing any sign of these 50,000 members gurugossip is currently boasting of anyway?
