Updates - Attention Gossipers!
GG netizens, I'm working all day tirelessly to get things back up and in working order, My apologies, but i needed the server temporarily offline to do some changes. i should have it back online today, FYI.
Until then, please have patience and we do appreciate those who have been loyal to us for so long. I'm hoping to somehow "pay you back" ... I'm just not sure how yet.... But thank you again for your patience and understanding.
A hint of things to come, btw, is that we are working on building a Discord server - some of you will like this idea and some of you likely will hate it, but it will help with communication when the site is offline and is an additional little nook of the GG community - or at least it will be I'm sure. I know Facebook as been the goto or here in comments when the (pardon my language) "shit hits the fan" - but I wanted to have something more solid. Anyway, feel free to comment on this post and let me know what you all think of that.
Also I should have forum updated and plugins and will be working towards fixing tapacrap soon. Thanks again! have a great day and stay safe and healthy!

DeleteI posted on here even though it’s 60 s of my life I’ll never get back as one of my favorite YouTubers who creates really positive content has been subject to a lot of hate on here—even though she’s been honest about being suicidal before and struggled with self esteem issues.

Please look up the meaning of 'critique'.A lot of users have VPN's on here so, I don't know why IP addresses are supposedly significant. Don't bother to mention the internet scams we've uncovered during the last few years. Youtubers flouting advertising laws and scamming people. Other Youtubers making cosmetics that are not fit for use. Other youtubers claiming that their vitamins cure illnesses! Where do you think drama channels get their information from? It seems that people have an issue with us all on here because we are anonymous!

ReplyDeleteWhile I appreciate all the work, I think at this point, it would be best to shut the whole website down. I can't even get my account back and the site goes offline every single day for several hours. I loved talking about Piinksparkles here and GG is the only place where she has her own thread(s). However, it would probably be smarter to move to another site as there are many stable ones out there.
ReplyDeleteAt least there should be a back-up on piinksparkles and all of the receipts etc somewhere else. Maybe ytt could add her? Is that place even active nowadays? But yeah GG should move on to tattle life or some other site for sure. It's frustrating that I never get to read all of the juicy gossip on my lunchbreak because of the downtime being locally inbetween 10 am and 1 pm.

ReplyDeleteThanks! Hope everything's alright, I was worried yesterday when the link didn't work. A suggestion, maybe instead of Discord add a Twitter where we can check when the site goes down, since a lot of people use it? I didn't know GG had an FB until it went down.

ReplyDeleteI think quite a few people lost their accounts after the hacking incident! Users tried to update their passwords and e-mail (as suggested on the main page) and ended up getting locked out! It happened to me! I stumbled upon GG facebook and it got sorted but not everyone knows to go there or have FB accounts! Hope the site is up and running soon :)

And major apologies for the email fiasco, not sure exactly what config broke that, but there were quite a few updates to be done, and it sometimes feels like they are never ending. Anyway, if you have had an account issue, please contact us, we are more than happy to attempt to resolve it for you!

DeleteI never said criticism was a crime, nor is hate itself (I hate every youtuber anyway), but it's not once or twice that people have crossed the line to illegal without their childish jumping to conclusions and then claiming whatever they please about the person. Not to mention stealing and distributing content, sharing personal information (which is never deleted).
DeleteAlso sometimes people attack youtubers on purpose and try to get to them (like uploading videos to mock them and sharing those videos all over). If people want to critisize and talk crap, can't be so hard to just do so, but apparently it's a fine line between an ah so sacred opinion!!1 and bullying. Ah well.

We will do our best to resolve it in a timely fashion and you won't lose your stats. Also we can simply manually activate you if necessary. That's been done every single time GG has had serious downtime and only been successful once that I know of. If it was so easy, GG wouldn't have tens of thousands of users logging on daily. I would be more than happy to start using PULL or Tattle Life..but the threads for the youtubers I follow never get alot of activity on those forums. There's one guru in particular who has a really active (and hilarious) thread on here that just never carried over to those better designed gossip sites. I just wish GG wouldn't crash all the time - I don't even mind the dated design of GG. (I also have a soft spot for the old school emoticon selection on here)

ReplyDeleteI truly appreciate the kind words, i think the majority of your know i'm here to support the site as best i can. I'm not perfect and there are some issues that just can't be resolved, due to the constant attempts by malicious people to try and dissuade you all from having an opinion. But as most of you know, i will continue to attempt to keep things running as smoothly as possible for as long as i possibly can. I'm sure at some point I may grow old enough, lol, to pass the torch, but until then i shall continue to put forth as much of my effort as i can to keep as many of you as happy as i possibly can with regards to the stability and functionality of the site for the community that supports it.

DeleteIt's amazing to me how the fans of certain youtubers twist the truth. Youtubers are toxic. Accept it. They make money by lying and taking advantage of the viewers. Again, accept it. They are parasites and they're getting paid for it. I'm gonna condemn this way of life forever and ever. And see them for what they are. And talk with people about them. If someone is bothered by it, they may as well completely stay away from the internet and LIVE A HAPPY LIFE WITH BIRDS CHIRPING AND COLORFUL FLOWERS AND BUTTERFLIES etc etc.

I remember him! Didn't he make a huge deal about making a new channel that would only be about beauty stuff? It was called Notso00. I think he uploaded one video then disappeared! His friend Alex had a channel too...I believe she documented her trans journey. I cannot remember what her channel was though! I always wondered what happened to Justin!
DeleteHey, you should contact Null, the owner of Kiwifarms. He has quite a lot of experience on running a gossip website that gets constantly targeted (and he runs it in his own home server). He's quite knowledgeable and I think he would be happy to help you get GG back working. Just a suggestion!

DeleteShit still isn’t up and I’m getting annoyed. 3 days down. Not to mention the fact that YTMD and GG both rarely ever work. Sometimes it wont let me on for a week at least once or twice a month. I’m constantly getting errors, pages not loading, usually every day at the same time none of the forums will load....etc. Tapatalk sucks so bad. Please fix it!!!

DeleteHey, even when the site is running I've been unable to access my account nor receiving emails for lost password recovery/activation/etc. No emails coming through to my spam or anything. Been like this since the first hacking a few weeks back. Anything I can do? I'd like to be able to comment and view photos again.

DeleteI've seen discord wreak absolute havoc on forums. To the point the entire forum community no longer receives activity. I don't think that would happen here but I'd feel guilty if I didn't give the warning from previous experience. Full disclosure: I was one of the loudest voices in favor of discord on one of the forums which adapted it and then closed down. I still think it could work here though because the content is somewhat triggered by outside actors (ie Gurus) rather than members having to invent it.
ReplyDeleteWell, the discord integration isn't for switching over to discord fully or anything, it's just for when the site is offline or for support services really, and if you feel like just chatting there, thats ok too. But yes, i figured it's a good addition, only time will tell.

MY BAD, it is now back online, if you are redirected here, you might have to clear your cache/cookies.....otherwise, it should load properly with the exception of tapatalk, because i'm still working on that.
