Just in case you've come here looking for the forum or news about the forum, Morgan is working hard at getting everything set up on our new server. It's taking some time because he has to wait on the host to approve certain things and whatnot. Hopefully we will be back and running error free within the next 24-48 hrs. We hadn't planned on the site being down during the transition, but the errors had reached a point of being constant and even we were having trouble getting onto the site. So, here we stand... Im sorry for the inconvenience and thank all of you for being patient while we deal with this situation!!

This is the only place I can ask you guys something.. I've been trying to register for a long time and always get held up on the "question" part of the registration. Too many wrong answers ans it locks me out. I've had the "guru mods" question and "website color" question. No matter where I search I cannot find the answers. You can't click on the bottom tab to read about the crew unless you're registered and I put in every adjective of 'purple' for the color answer and it's always wrong. I'm from the states, so it looks purple, lilac, lavendar... Can you give me the answers so I can register? Thanks! Sorry, if I'm really overlooking an easy answer, but I've tried on computer and phone and have never been successful. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've had such a hard time! The moddie question can be answered just by reading threads on the forum. The moddies are quite active in the threads and they have moddie on their profile. Just to quickly help on that one, you can use guestgue, kittykat, WhatTheFudge, or justsaw. As for colour, any variation do purple should work.... violet, purple or lavender...

I keep trying to register and get this error.

It's a gmail account, which makes this error strange. I also tried my university account and got the same error.
Why can I not view the site? I have heard so much about it and I would love to look at it myself but every time I try, a screen pops up that says the site is forbidden?
DeleteYou've been having way too many issues since you moved sites, I doubt it will ever be the same again.

DeleteThere's YTtalk.com ... it's not beauty guru focused, but it is YouTube focused. Lots of active YouTubers post there (including of one former band members of "Your Favorite Martian" (the cartoon "band" that Ray William Johnson fronted).

ReplyDeleteYes, it's down again and I'm working with Morgan and the host to figure out what's going on. For some reason, the forum is lost somewhere between the old shared server and the new dedicated one. I'm so sorry for all of this mess. I know it's frustrating!

ReplyDeleteIt is probably a good thing the site is done. Some people spent every freaking day, all day long commenting on thread after thread (a few people come to mind) and really need a break. Kind of creepy how obsessed they are.

DeleteMost people do not harass on their social sites. I have never commented on anyone's sites (including YouTube) since I've posted on here. If they didn't come here and look then they wouldn't be so bothered about what was being said. Maybe if they can't handle negativity then they need to get off the Internet? Unless someone is threatening physical harm to them, I see nothing wrong with the site. Can't wait for it to up and running soon!!

ReplyDeleteThe site isn't quite back up. Those of you seeing the front page and thinking your username and password don't work are seeing a redirect page. We are still just waiting for the host to fix the errors they caused and then it should be good to go. I know this is all taking forever. Wha should have been a 2 day switch over has been turned into a seemingly never ending mess! It will end though, I promise! GG will be back and better than ever!

But I'm clearly not a spammer. I could post on the board before the crash and I didn't spam, posted like 4 posts/week maybe. Plus GG is the only website and forum that says that.
I'm not exactly sure why, but a lot of user's IP addresses are now being blocked as spammers automatically. There is a way to fix it. PM bipolarmorgan or email him bipolatmorgan@gmail.com He can tell you what to do.

ReplyDeleteWhen I go to the site all I see is the address bar now reads "http://fixucomputers.biz/phpbb3/" and it wont let me login or read anything.

If you're still seeing fixu in the address bar, you'll need to either update your bookmark for GG or clear out your cache/cookies. The site is back up and running!

ReplyDeleteMy password isn't working anymore since the fix and I'm not getting any emails when I try to reset it. I tried making a new registration and I'm not getting activation emails either. I cleared the cache and tried again for both the reset email and activation email and still nothing. They're not in junk mail either. Any help?

ReplyDeleteYep, same here. When I googled the error message, it comes up that the admin has entered * for banned email addresses, which basically shuts down the board for any new registrations, and makes current users unable to change their contact email.

ReplyDeleteI used to be a mod over at GG, but have stopped going due to the hypocritical behavior of some of the members. To say the GG is nothing like MoarFail is nonesense. There was plenty of stalking behavior by most of the members, even mods looked up IPs and found out addresses. Yes, MF can appear "disorganized" but it's really not. The mod makes a topic then people can make a reply to the topic or about something else. It's a lot faster then going and looking for the right forum. Also, GG being on blogspot is just so hypocritical..What makes you different from mf now?

It's not that you were banned. We did a software update as well as an anti-spam update.
ReplyDeleteYou need to go to this site http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check and follow their directions. Somehow your IP has been linked to a spamming incident.
I checked the site and none of the sites had a red (!) next to them, but I still can't use GG. I don't know what to do, or why this is happening. I've never spammed so how is my IP linked to any incident?
